The country's power facilities have come under increased strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were hurt while local people in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and faced interruptions to water supplies, per reports from local authorities.

Meanwhile, a minor was killed in a distinct Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, based on information from local officials.

Russian forces has increased attacks on electrical systems over the past few days, while the country's government has demanded "concrete actions" from partner nations to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the US, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering protection systems and applying restrictions," mentioned in a public message.

Officials stated that 450 drones and more than 30 rockets attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were striving to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and residential structures in the capital.

Several of the people hurt in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, per statements from city authorities.
